It is a 100% Swiss crew that will be sailing on board the Hublot IMOCA for the 2023 season. Alan Roura has decided to team up with Simon Koster from Zurich.
"For several years I had been looking to put together a 'Swiss made' crew for double-handed races," says Alan Roura, happy to finally be able to put his project into practice on the occasion of his fourth Transat Jacques Vabre.
Simon Koster, 34 years old, who recently finished 4th in the Route du Rhum in Class 40, has a degree in electronics and has been through the dinghy school. He is an all-round sailor and an outstanding technician, who will be supporting Alan in his quest for performance.
After resuming training in mid-March in Lorient, to get the boat back up and running and Simon to get his bearings, followed by an intensive sailing phase in Cascais, Portugal, Alan and Simon will take part in the Guyader Bermuda 1000 Race in May, the Fastnet Race in July and the Défi Azimut - Lorient Agglomération in September. Autumn will then give way to the major events of the season, with the double-handed transatlantic race between Le Havre and Fort-de-France at the end of October, and its return race, this time solo for Alan, the Retour à La Base, a few weeks later.
