Christian Katz to join the Board of bank Bonhôte
Dr Christian Katz, former CEO of SIX Swiss Exchange, which runs the Swiss stock exchange in Zurich, will join the Board of the two-hundred-year-old private bank, Bonhôte & Cie SA, in Neuchâtel. Christian Katz has specific, leading-edge skills, and a thorough-going knowledge on how the Swiss and foreign financial markets operate. His outstanding technical expertise will be of benefit to the Bank, which is specialised in private and institutional wealth management, at a time when boards of directors are becoming increasingly professional.
Christian Katz holds a doctorate degree from the University of St. Gallen, where he also did his undergraduate studies. Prior to his position as CEO of SIX group from 2009 to 2015, he headed Goldman Sachs’s representative office in Switzerland and also worked for eight years in London at J.P. Morgan. Among the other offices he holds, Mr Katz is vice-chairman of the board of directors of Saxo Bank in Zurich.
Jean Berthoud, Chairman of the Board of Banque Bonhôte & Cie SA, looks forward to the arrival of this eminent figure. He commented, “We are very happy to welcome a new top-flight member to our ranks in the person of Mr Katz.”
Yves de Montmollin, CEO, stated that the Board would be able to draw on his knowledge of modern technology markets to which the Bank is particularly attentive.
The Bonhôte Group, with its head office in Neuchâtel and branches in Bern, Biel, Geneva, and Lausanne, is delighted with this new step in its business development. The appointment of Mr Katz will be presented to the General Meeting of Shareholders in April.
